This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our Site and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting and disclosing that information.

When you purchase something from our online store, whether through our Site or mobile application, as part of the buying and selling process we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, and credit or debit card number. When you browse our online store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that s us learn about your browser and operating system.
Even if you do not make a purchase on our Site, we have the ability to track usage of our website, including what pages are visited, what products are viewed, and the third-party sites that led you to our site. Other information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses and information collected through cookies, web beacons and other tracking technologies, including information about your internet connection, the equipment you use to access our Site and usage details. This information is not used to track information about individuals, but is used at an aggregate level to customize our site, improve the online experience, and plan advertising and promotions.

SECTION 3 - DISCLOSURE
Varnish Lane does not sell or otherwise share your personal information with anyone else, such as advertising agencies or marketing companies. We only send marketing information to those customers who specifically sign up for our mailing list. Marketing information sent by Varnish Lane may be sent by us as part of a cross-promotion or other collaboration with other companies or brands, but we do not disclose personal information to such companies or brands.
Varnish Lane will share your personal information internally with those staff members who need it to complete your purchase or carry out your instructions regarding the receipt of marketing information. Authorized Varnish Lane service providers may also have access to this information in order to carry out their responsibilities directly connected with the processing of your purchases or handling of customer service issues.
We may disclose aggregated anonymous information about our users, without restriction.
- To our subsidiaries and affiliates.
- To contractors, service providers and other third parties we use to support our business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
- To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of Varnish Lane’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation or similar proceeding, in which Personal Information held by Varnish Lane about our Site users is among the assets transferred.
- To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it. For example, if you give us an e-mail address to use the "e-mail a friend" feature of our Site, we will transmit the contents of that e-mail and your e-mail address to the recipients.

SECTION 4 - SHOPIFY
Our online store is hosted by Shopify Inc. (“Shopify”). Shopify provides us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s databases and software application. Shopify stores your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our online store and its service providers. Varnish Lane does not currently retain credit card numbers internally.
SECTION 5 - SECURITY
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. However, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
SECTION 6 – COOKIES AND DATA
Varnish Lane, as with many other websites, makes use of "cookies" to help deliver a better customer shopping experience. Cookies are alphanumerical identification elements that we transfer to the hard drive of your computer via your web browser. They enable our systems to recognize your browser and to offer you value-added services, such as saving the contents of your shopping basket and to deliver a more personalized shopping experience. Most Internet web browsers can be set to inform you when a cookie has been sent to you and provide you with the opportunity to refuse that cookie. Additionally, if you have a Flash player installed on your computer, your Flash player can be set to reject or delete Flash cookies. However, refusing a cookie may, in some cases, preclude you from using, or negatively impact the display or function of, the Site or certain areas or features of the Site.
We may use “clear GIFs” (aka “web beacons” or “pixel tags”) or similar technologies, in the Site and/or in our communications with you to enable us to know whether you have visited a Web page or received a message. A clear GIF is typically a one-pixel, transparent image (although it can be a visible image as well), located on a webpage or in an e-mail or other type of message, which is retrieved from a remote site on the Internet enabling the verification of an individual’s viewing or receipt of a Web page or message. A clear GIF may enable us to relate your viewing or receipt of a Web page or message to other information about you, including your Personal Information.
Our server automatically collects data about your server’s Internet address when you visit us. This information, known as an Internet Protocol address, or IP Address, is a number that’s automatically assigned to your computer by your Internet service provider whenever you’re on the Internet. When you request pages from our Site, our servers may log your IP Address and sometimes your domain name. Our server may also record the referring page that linked you to us (e.g., another website or a search engine); the pages you visit on this Site; the Web site you visit after this Site; the ads you see and/or click on; other information about the type of Web browser, computer, platform, related software and settings you are using; any search terms you have entered on this Site or a referral site; and other Site usage activity and data logged by our Site servers. We use this information for internal system administration, to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Site. Such information may also be used to gather broad demographic information, such as country of origin and Internet Service Provider. Any or all of these activities with regard to Site usage information may be performed on our behalf by our service providers.
We do not control these third parties' tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly. However these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") on the NAI's website.
SECTION 7 - AGE OF CONSENT
By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any minors under your care to use this site.
If our company is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
SECTION 10 - LEGALLY COMPELLED DISCLOSURES
We may disclose user information to government authorities, and to other third parties when compelled to do so by government authorities, or otherwise as required or permitted by law, including but not limited to in response to court orders and subpoenas. Please understand that if you opt out of receiving promotional correspondence from us, we may still contact you in connection with your relationship, activities, transactions and communications with us. Also, a request to have us stop sharing your personal information with other entities for marketing purposes will only apply as of the date of your request, and we will not be responsible for any communications that you may receive from entities that received your personal information prior to such request.
